Thanks for the heads up, Aaron. I didn't even know there was a Tour of California. Unfortunately, cycling isn't really that well publisized.

Yep, too bad cycling and motorcycling do not get the air time that cage fighting and bass fishing get!

From Sunday's opening stage:
World time trial champion Fabian Cancellara (CSC) rode to a commanding prologue victory on Sunday in the 2008 Amgen Tour of California.

Tour of California:
Coverage of the final stage on Sunday was really good. It was live and continued past 7pm with ZERO commercial breaks. Hincapie won in dramatic fashion. Good stuff.

I recorded Speed's coverage of SBK on a VHS tape so I could watch the 2 hours in 75 minutes when you fast forward through the commercials. Great racing on SBK. Looks like it will be a great season with SBK.

Too bad we don't get EuroSport in the US with live coverage for SBK. SBK doesn't offer live online coverage like MotoGP. If they did, I'd have it.

Winter is officially over! The season for two wheel racing is here. . . with and without pedals!

I've really picked up my training for blood sweat and gears over the last few weeks and boy......what was pretty easy in November is not as easy now. :)

It's coming back pretty quick though.

Way cool. Great bike!!

I just returned from watching two stages of the Tour De Georgia and then went to the FIM/SPEA Round 3 World Championship Outdoor Trials in Sequatchie TN.

Both events were spectacular!!

Looking forward to spinning the pedals this week.

Enjoy the new ride.

New to the forum...

C'speed, and C'spin grad'.

I ride with several bicycle groups, here at the beach. Wilmington and Southport, NC.

If anyone is at the beach, give a holler, we're flat and sandy and don't know what hills are, but settle into your tri-bars and we'll spin 20+ all day long with ya'

I never got what the big deal was with "sportbikes making your shoulders ache and hands go numb". Then someone said, "Dude, you're a cyclist, no sportbike is as uncomfortable to ride as your bicycle" I loved that comment. Makes you think?

I want a jersey! :-D

Welcome to the forum.

If I'm down towards the coast, you can count on me having a bike with me.

Jersey order has already gone in. Hopefully we'll be doing more in the future. We just have to hit minimums before we place an order.

Been riding pretty heavily lately, but one thing I started new today was riding to work. It's 11 miles and I can make it in about 40-50 minutes, depending on conditions. The funny thing is that in the truck, it's 18 miles and 30 minutes....I know where the miles are going to be going now though.

Diesel Fuel=$4.70 per gal and rising, 30 min's, pollution, etc. etc.

Felt F75=$0 to fuel, an extra 10-20 min's.....enjoying a bit of extra time outside of the jail cell.

Satisfaction that I'm doing my part for myself, the environment, and my wallet....priceless :-D

Well i did blood sweat and gears this weekend.

http://www.bloodsweatandgears.org/

I have to say it is by far the hardest thing I have ever done physically.

I wanted to finish in 6.5 hours but did it in 7. I'll hit it better prepared next year and at least 10 lbs lighter. :)

My HR monitor said I averaged 172 HR for 7 hours with a max of 203 when I was going up snake mountain. I did manage to burn 7800 calories though. :-D

next year I'll know the pain i'm in for and hope to keep my HR average around 160-165 which is more maintainable for me.

Anybody want to do it next year? :)

Man I was just looking at the elevation changes on the topography map, Snake Mtn does look rather brutal, looks like fun pain though.

Rather brutal is a nice way of putting it. It looked like a warzone with people spread all over the road. :)

Congrats on finishing it.
I was in New Mexico hiking in the Sandias.
Maybe next year I can join you.

Whattup Sig, I think my buddy Aaron(ab650 on here) up here in Richmond and I are going to try and make it down for that....he might need to change up his setup that he has right now(fixed gear) based on those elevation changes. He was crushing some climbs today though.

You hitting Barber in a few weeks?
